I DO’S BY THE RED ROCKS: REAL ELOPEMENT CAPTURED BY CRYSTAL COUSIN PHOTO | COLORADO

If you didn’t already notice, Colorado boasts a natural grandeur that truly captivates the soul, young and old alike. With its majestic peaks, pristine alpine lakes, and rugged landscape, our beloved Centennial State stands as a testament to nature’s unparalleled beauty. As winter blankets the region, transforming it into a wonderland of glistening snow, the charm of Colorado becomes even more enchanting…winter wedding, anyone?! The crisp air, snow-capped peaks, and cozy ambiance creates an idyllic setting for couples embarking on the journey of a lifetime: their weddings!

Whether exchanging vows beneath towering evergreens laden with snow, or amidst the rustic elegance of a mountain lodge, Colorado’s winter landscape provides a dreamlike canvas for couples seeking an unforgettable start to their matrimonial journey. And with the holiday spirit permeating the air, the stage is set for an enchanting celebration that combines the magic of the season with the timeless beauty of Colorado’s outdoor vistas.

But before we get too excited for the winter wedding season, we want to take a moment to really celebrate a fall wedding in Colorado that captured the hearts of our entire team here at Wedding Collective.

Crystal Cousin Photo, a local Colorado wedding photographer that specializes in capturing the most intimate and heartwarming moments, spent an October afternoon taking photos for a couple in the breathtaking red rocks of Colorado. In this beautiful display of love and exchanging forevers, Marisa and Russell could think of no better place to elope than the iconic Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs as the backdrop of their intimate wedding day. And when we say intimate, we mean it!

This wasn’t Crystal Cousin Photo’s first rendezvous with the couple. Two years prior, Crystal Cousin Photo documented the sweet elopement of Russel’s sister, Bethany, and her wife, Hailee, in the rolling mountain scape of Taos, New Mexico. Marisa, one of the two guests at their beautiful wedding, found herself in front of Crystal’s lens once again, creating the most heartwarming of reunions.

Dressed in all black, the entire group, including Bethany and Hailee, embraced a chic and timeless aesthetic. Dr. Marten’s boots adorned each member, creating a stylish ensemble that perfectly complemented the vibrant red rocks that make up the Garden of the Gods.

Talk about a totally elegant look! The choice of attire not only showcased the couple’s unique style but also made a striking contrast against the natural beauty of the surroundings. As Marisa and Russell exchanged vows, the black attire provided a captivating visual narrative.

Despite the popularity of the Garden of the Gods as a wedding and elopement destination (I mean, are you surprised?!), the day unfolded seamlessly according to the OG plan. Wedding miracles do happen, folks. The couple and their two guests, accompanied by Crystal Cousin Photo, navigated the park with grace, capturing unforgettable moments without missing a beat.

Surrounded by the striking scenery, Marisa and Russell radiated joy throughout the day. Their infectious smiles illuminated every photograph, capturing the genuine happiness that comes from marrying the love of your life in a place as magical as the Garden of the Gods.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, leaving behind the hues of subtle blues, oranges, and yellows, Crystal Cousin Photo continued to work their magic, immortalizing the love and unique relationship between Marisa and Russell.

The result?

A collection of timeless photographs that not only documented a tender and heartfelt elopement, but also told a story of enduring love surrounded by the majestic red rocks as old as love itself. In the end, Marisa and Russell’s wedding stands as a testament to the beauty of intimate celebrations, the precious nature of Colorado, and the artistry of capturing those fleeting moments that make a wedding day truly unforgettable.
