Wedding Etiquette: Who Pays for Out-of-Town Vendors?

If you’re lucky enough to plan a destination wedding , you might have a question about who pays for the accommodations for your wedding pros traveling to your event. Here, we share a tip or two about booking accommodations for your not-so-typical out-of-town-guests — your wedding vendors!

This is a big question many brides pose when considering hiring wedding professionals from outside of their home town. Each professional will have requirements in his or her contract. Most of the time, if the drive is longer than two hours, you will be required per the terms of their contract to provide them with accommodations. Even if there is no requirement in the contract to do so, it is an appropriate thing to do.

When getting their accommodations, make sure that the hotel you choose is in a safe area and is clean. You don’t have to go with a five-star hotel, but you don’t want to put your wedding professionals up in a place where you wouldn’t feel comfortable staying.
